To the west of Parque Morazán, just across the street is Parque España. With tropical shade trees, thick bamboo and lush gardens it is a lovely secluded park.

The tall building that overlooks the park is the National Insurance Institute, INS, which houses the Jade Museum with over 6000 pieces of Pre-Columbian art and jewelry.

Up the hill on Av 7 is Casa Amarillo, Costa Rica’s foreign ministry. President John F. Kennedy planted the large Ceiba tree in front in 1963. East of the park is Centro Nacional de la Cultura, the former National Liquor Factory. It features the Contemporary Art Museum.
